27. September, Stockholm
The Stockholm Green Digital Finance hosted the Green Assets Wallet Partners Breakfast Meeting and the Green Assets Wallet Workshop at the Norrsken House in Stockholm on 27 September 2018. The two events concluded a part of the testing phase of the Green Assets Wallet (GAW), which is a BMZ-funded project of Stockholm Green Digital Finance and is executed in collaboration with GIZs Emerging Markets Dialogue on Finance (EMDF). At the Partners Breakfast Meeting, Stockholm Green Digital Finance provided an overall status update, discussed feedback received both from issuers and investors during the test phase, and presented a demo of the latest version of the GAW. In the context of the Partners Breakfast Meeting CECEP, the largest service-oriented scientific industrial group in the energy conservation and environmental protection field in China was announced as a new project partner. CECEP is a well renowned external reviewer offering green bond certification services in China.
The Partners Breakfast Meeting was followed by a workshop to discuss the technology and feedback received from the test phase as well as the planning of other events for the GAW market and outreach phase in China, Africa and Latin America. A wide range of participants from Nordic countries (issuers, investors, research agencies) as well as Chinese and German representatives who joined virtually, jointly discussed technology, impact reporting and potential features to be added.
The day concluded with a meeting explaining blockchain, and discussing its technological implementation to experts from Öhmann, Stockholm Environment Institute, and GIZ – all of whom are planning to become a node in the GAW postchain.
After the testing phase is completed, the Green Assets Wallet will be launched on 27. November 2018 in Paris at the Climate Finance Day.
