EMDF facilitates knowledge exchange between Indonesian Financial Regulator OJK and China

5 December 2017, Beijing

The 5th China Social Investment Forum (SIF), a platform aiming to promote environmental, social & governance (ESG) concepts in China’s financial system, hosted a series of events, including seminars about sustainable stock exchanges, China’s green bond market development, and sustainable investments led by trusts. The platform, which was attended by financial regulators, stock exchanges, international organizations such as the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), institutional investors and other capital market stakeholders, also provided the opportunity for cross-regional knowledge exchange. Facilitated by the EMDF, a delegation of the Indonesian Financial Service Authority (OJK) participated in the forum and engaged in several seminars to present and discuss Indonesia’s national strategy, work plan and initiatives for promoting sustainable finance in the domestic market.

In the context of OJK’s visit to China, GIZ also facilitated the exchange with Dr. Ma Jun from the Green Finance Committee (GFC) of China Society of Finance and Banking and Mr. Ye Yanfei from the Policy Research Department of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) to learn from China’s experiences and practices in its green bond market development, green credit policies and green credit statistics.
